My thanks, once again, to Sue Llewellyn for affording me the opportunity to share some pictures of windows in response to her Word A Week Photograph Challenge on A Word In Your Ear at http://suellewellyn2011.wordpress.com/2014/09/10/a-word-a-week-photograph-challenge-window/.
Although I’ve already shown images of some of the windows at the Smith Museum of Stained Glass Windows on Navy Pier in Chicago in previous posts, I still had a few left that I thought might be worth a look.
I particularly liked the window depicting The Fairy Tale of The Bear Attacking Other Animals created in 1997 by artist Khaim Pinkhasik.
Beautiful photographs of fantastic artwork
Thanks, Nora! It’s so difficult to get a really clear picture in the museum, with low light and so many reflections, but the colors look good anyway.
Excellent windows, excellent pictures. Thank you.
Thank you, Tootlepedal! I did my best considering the lighting. Ideally I’d like to take a tripod with me but space is rather limited in the museum as it’s situated in the main walkway that runs the length of the pier.
Tripods are wonderful things but I hardly ever use mine because of the bother of lugging them about and the difficulty of getting them in exactly the right position.
I agree. Yet another reason why I’ve hardly used mine ever since I got it. It weighs a ton!!
Absolutely stunning, and yes I also especially loved the bear 🙂
I’ve been through these galleries so many times but I always stop to admire the workmanship in these beautiful windows.
