I had planned on using a different set of pictures for Thursday Doors this week, but after reading Norm’s thoughtful and moving post this morning they seemed much too frivolous. Instead I found a few images that I hope will convey my feelings. Wherever and however you choose to worship, may you find peace.
The BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Bartlett, Illinois.
The Assembly Hall on Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah.
St. Peters Church at Old World Wisconsin.
St. Joseph Cathedral in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
The Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis, Missouri.
St Matthias Church in New Fane, Wisconsin.
The Baha’i House of Worship in Wilmette, Illinois.

beautiful doors
Thank you!
That was very thoughtful and compassionate of you to change your post! These are all very beautiful churches – incredible that you found all of these so quickly to post!!
Thank you! I’ve been through the photo files so many times, I know pretty much where everything is by now.
A great post, wishing I’d read Norm’s words prior to posting today. Good for you and others who did.
Thank you, and thanks for stopping by.
Beautiful shots – great choices 🙂
Thanks, Norm!
The third one reminds me of the country church my grandparents attended in Nebraska. Perfect choices.

Thanks, Janet! I love those small, country churches.
Gorgeous! I recognized the Bahai temple right away, but have never been to the temple (BAPS ….) in Bartlett. I should go check that out! You have a lovely set of church doors. Did you go inside the Cathedral Basilica in St. Louis? Incredible – so beautiful!
Thank you! Yes, we did go inside the Basilica which is a beautiful place. I can highly recommend a visit to the BAPS temple. It’s just breathtaking. Be sure to tour the inside. Unfortunately no indoor photography but well worth a look.
