Especially for Norm’s Thursday Doors, here are just a few of the entrances that I have come across during my travels so far this year. We can never be certain where our path through life will lead us. For some it’s all a matter of faith. I prefer to think of it as fate.
Fourth Presbyterian Church on Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago.
St. Peter’s Catholic Church on Madison Street in Chicago
Cathedral of Saint Paul in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Bartlett, Illinois.

Haven’t seen you for a while. Hope you’re okay. All ornate and expensive looking doors:)
Maybe I’m too western to believe in fate. Like to think that I can reach whatever I want to. And I have and even gone beyond my dreams.
I’m doing fine, thanks. Just not many ‘doors’ in the photo files lately, but lots of other things appearing in recent posts on this blog and The Nature of Things. I’m glad that you have reached and exceeded your goals in life.
Fabulous grand doors!
Yes, I thought they were rather impressive. Thank you for visiting.
I like a church with doors that are optimistic about the number of people that are going to go through them.
A good point, Tom. I can’t speak for the regular attendance at the St Paul Cathedral, although there were quite a few tourists looking around while I was there and there was a wedding in progress at the Presbyterian Church when I took this picture. I’ve been past St Peter’s on Madison many times and went inside once just to see what it was like. I’ve been to the Mandir in Bartlett on several occasions, once when there was a special festival, and they are well equipped to handle a large crowd, which there certainly was that day. So I guess it’s good to be prepared, just in case there’s a large turnout.
Wow, some grand entrances there, you can see who had all the money compared to us peasants!
Grand indeed, but give me a good old country church in England any day.
Wow…awesome doors you captured, Sue!!
Thanks, Indira!
Sue, what a wonderful gallery of impressive doors. I love them all!

Thanks, Janet! It’s funny, I never really paid much attention to doors before I started participating in this challenge, but now it’s one of the first things I look at in a building.
I’m the same way, Sue. 🙂 And it’s so much fun!!
