This week, Patti has chosen Symmetry as the topic for the Lens-Artists Photo Challenge. On the road and in the garden, we’ve come across symmetry in all kinds of places; Cantigny Park in Wheaton, a display of artwork in Galena and the Art Museum and a bridge in Milwaukee.
Although my own garden follows a more free and easy cottage-style format, I enjoy visiting the symmetrically formal layouts in gardens such the ones seen here; McGovern Centennial Park in Houston, Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis, North Carolina Arboretum in Asheville and Green Bay Botanical Garden.
Beautiful symmetry and you captured these from excellent PoV, Sue!
Thank you, Indira! I tried to take the pictures from as high a point as I could in the gardens as I figured it was the best way to see how things were set out.
Great photos. Excellent symmetry.
Thanks, John.
Excellent examples of symmetry. That first one reminded me that I could have photographed the lions or the tigers at Princeton University.
Thank you, Khurt. The two dogs guard the final resting place of Robert and Amy McCormick in Cantigny’s Exedra.
These are terrific Sue – was the building interior the Calatrava building in NYC next to the WTC memorial? I had the hardest time finding an angle I liked there and yours is perfect!
Thanks, Tina! The interior was taken in the Museum of Art in Milwaukee.
Lovely captures, Sue. Beautiful examples of symmetry. I love that fabulous glass roof and walls.
Thanks, Patti. The architecture at the Milwaukee Art Museum is incredible.
Once again you have a hit the target dead centre.
Thanks, Tom! Another challenge where I didn’t even realize what I had taken, in terms of composition, until I went through the photo files looking for suitable entries.
Absolutely marvelous examples of symmetry. I really don’t have a favorite, but the glass roof one made me pause and look again. Great photos!
Many thanks, Rusha!
Excellent examples of symmetry.
Thanks, Anne!
Nicely done!

Beautifully captured! Love these symmetry collections!
Thank you, Amy!
Thank you for writing this article for us. The photos with the symmetry examples help me learn a lot.
Thanks for stopping by, Geri. I hope you’ll visit again.
Well done, thanks for posting this.
Thank you, Geri!
