Cee has picked the color Purple as the topic for this week’s Fun Foto Challenge and I’m ready!
Because purple is my favorite color, it was the first thing that caught my eye at the 63rd Annual American Indian Pow Wow in Busse Woods last weekend.
The ladies looked beautiful in their costumes.
This little sweetheart, just 2 years old, was making her debut in the dancing circle and seemed to be enjoying every moment.

My favorite color! Purple is the subject for Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge this week. Around the house and in the garden there is a liberal sprinkling of the color purple and, when I go out and about with the camera, that particular shade always catches my eye.

Also in Millennium Park, Crown Fountain in the depths of winter.
Butterflies love the chives that are growing in our garden! It’s the only reason I keep them; the color purple and the fact that they attract butterflies. The trouble is they’re taking over; the chives that is. Every autumn I dig them up but the seeds drop and every spring back they come in even larger numbers!

Back to the garden again and an Iris with the rather saucy name of Street Walker that did outstandingly well this year.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge this week on Cee’s Photography at http://ceenphotography.com/2014/03/18/cees-fun-foto-challenge-the-color-purple/ is The Color Purple.
My favorite color! And, although I have scores of purple pics in the photo files, I thought I’d get some new images while I was visiting the Chicago Flower and Garden Show down at Navy Pier this week. There seemed to be no shortage of purple objects as I looked around the displays and stalls.
Not surprisingly, considering Mariano’s was presenting the show, there were plenty of delicious goodies on display and in this case purple was definitely the icing on the cake.
From table settings to fashion statements, purple was evidently at the forefront.
All kinds of Spring bling was on display including everything needed to make a garden party sparkle.
Oh yes! There were flowers too!
The Weekly Photo Challenge from the folks on The Daily Post at http://dailypost.wordpress.com/2013/10/18/hue-photo-challenge/ is The Hue of You.
Ever since I was a child my favorite color has been purple and that fact is reflected in so many aspects of my life as you will see if you follow this link http://sfkfsfcfef.wordpress.com/2012/02/18/a-passion-for-purple/
From flowers to frocks, the color purple in all its shades and hues has drawn my eye like no other and has influenced the choices that I’ve made to no little extent.
Cheerful, purple monarda flowers at the entrance to Spring Valley Nature Center seem to offer the visitor a warm welcome.
