The American Horse, created by sculptor Nina Akamu, looms large at the Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This magnificent bronze horse, modeled after a work by 15th century artist Leonardo da Vinci, stands 24ft tall.
This is my entry for the Weekly Photo Challenge as seen on The Daily Post at http://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_photo_challenge/silhouette-2014/
Sue’s latest Word A Week Challenge on A Word In Your Ear at http://suellewellyn2011.wordpress.com/2013/10/08/a-word-a-week-challenge-silhouette/ is Silhouette. A sunset shot of Chicago, taken from a tour boat on Lake Michigan.
This was one of those times when I was hoping to take a picture of the wagon but ended up with a clearer shot of the barn in the background. Taken at a farm in Old World Wisconsin.
Once again, I hadn’t thought of capturing these trees, at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, necessarily as silhouettes but I think it serves this purpose quite adequately.
A night shot taken in downtown Chicago at the Crown Fountains in Millennium Park.
