Frizztext’s A-Z Challenge this week on Flickr Comments at http://flickrcomments.wordpress.com/2014/01/21/tagged-c-2/ is the letter C.
In response I can do no better than to simply say Cantigny.
The gardens at Cantigny Park, once the home of Robert R. McCormick, are some of the most beautiful in the Chicago area.
Located in Wheaton, Illinois, Cantigny boasts a gorgeous rose garden, immaculately kept formal gardens and a most informative Idea Garden.
Every season has its own special magic at Cantigny, notably the colorful tulips in April and glowing, red Shirley poppies in June.
Statues and fountains grace the borders and walkways, everything kept neat and trim. With 22 separate gardens there’s something for every taste including a Prairie/Savannah Garden.
This year I’m hoping to spend more time there. It’s a little further to travel than the Botanic Gardens, but I think the photographic rewards will be well worth the effort.
What a lovely garden.
I always find these places very inspirational and work twice as hard on my own little garden when I get home.
Gorgeous photos
Thanks, Nora!

Thank you, Frizztext! I enjoyed the challenge and am looking forward to the next one.
This is a beautiful garden. I would love to see it in the Spring.
One of my favorite places to visit in Springtime.
I love gardens – thanks for sharing your photos with us. And you got in two Cs! Catigny and Chicago 🙂
Thank you! And thanks for stopping by.
