I’m a city girl at heart and although I’ve lived in the suburbs for many years now, there’s nothing I love better than a trip downtown, which is why I was so pleased to see the subject for this week’s Lens-Artists Photo Challenge, Cityscapes. Many thanks to Patti for providing us with this challenge. Although I was born in London, I now live near another great city, Chicago, which is where these images were captured.

Beautiful series of skyscrapers..
Thank you so much! And thank you for stopping by. I really appreciate your comment.
Whoa … bigger than life stunning shots.
Thank you, Perpetua!
Great pictures showcasing Chicago, Sue!!
Thanks, Indira! I hope to visit there a lot more this year.
Architecture in Chicago is remarkable!! Stunning photos, Sue!
Thanks, Amy! There is such a great blend of the old and the new in Chicago.
Great photos. Very Sharp!
Thank you, Michael! There are so many aspects of Chicago that I want to photograph so I will try to find a different subject every time I go there now.
I love Chicago too, Sue! Your images do it justice. They are fabulous!
Thank you, Patti! And thank you so much for this challenge.
You’re very welcome, Sue!
Somehow American skyscrapers look more organic and natural than the disparate and ugly London skyline.
The combination of the old and the new does seem to work well in Chicago, Tom. I never was a huge fan of modern architecture but I am beginning to appreciate some of the less boxy style of buildings.
They all are fabulous!✌
Thank you! There is so much to see and do in Chicago. If I ever won the lottery big-time, I would move there in a heart-beat.
What a wonderful introduction to Chicago.. for me to enjoy!
Thank you, Liz! Glad you liked it. Can’t wait for the weather to warm up a bit so I can get down there and look around for more pictures.
Beautiful series!
Thank you, Ann-Christine!
Perfect captures of a great city Sue
Thanks, Tina!
Really nice shots of the city. I particularly like the river walk stairs. One of the newest places in the city to sit and watch.
Thank you! I’m looking forward to taking another walk by the river once the snow clears and the temperatures get above freezing.
These are great and give a good idea to someone who’s never been.
Thank you! I look forward to sharing more pictures of the city in the months to come.
Great post Sue. What is the name of the castle like tower? I took a photo of it during New Year’s Eve. I didn’t include it because I really had no Idea what it was. I like your photo better anyways.
Thanks, Chris! This is the Historic Water Tower, one of the few buildings to survive the Great Chicago Fire.
Cool!
