It’s September and Becky is back with her Square Photo Challenge. This month the topic is In the Pink and no, I wasn’t under the influence when I took this picture! We stopped for gas in Wisconsin recently and this was what we saw.
Apparently this pink elephant has been a fixture at the gas station in DeForest since the 1960’s.
For more on In the Pink go to Hello September!
That sure would make me stop and take a picture!
It certainly wasn’t something I was expecting to see.
This brings a smile, Sue 🙂
It did help to brighten a rather tedious journey.
oh my!! Made me smile . . how brilliant. Intrigued why it has been given glasses though!!
Thanks, Becky! They had a sign that gave a little of the elephant’s history but made no mention of the glasses. Since there were several others produced by Sculptured Advertising, I’m guessing this was just something that was added to make it a bit different.
Just love it . . . such fun 🙂
Fantastic find, Trix! 🙂 🙂
Thanks, Jo!
I have seen a few of them in my time but never at a gas station.
Haha! I have to admit it had me doing a double-take after hours of highway driving (as driver and passenger.)
Gotta see this! I’ve seen chickens and cows in Wisconsin, but never an elephant!
Not something you come across every day, that’s for sure.
